Sawntimber

Our sawntimber is mainly derived from three essences:

• - sweet chestnut
• - durmast oak
• - ash

Our trunks come from the best French forests, where they are tested and carefully selected, directly in the forest, according to the essence, type and best quality straight by our business owner and by our specialized staff.
Once the seat is reached, the first process begins; the logs are cut according to the customer's request and the second check is made on each one. Then, they are debarked and sawn with thickness range from 25 + 2mm to 100mm, based on client’s requirement.
As for chestnut sawntimber, which has been our raw material for over 40 years and we know all its merits, the boards are checked one by one and divided by quality. As our custom for over 30 years, with the boards the logs in Boules are reassembled inside the package.
About ash planks, the first division is made between White and Olive colour, thickness is always decided with the customer, then the boards are checked one by one and packaged.
Durmast sawntimber is sawn according to the thickness required and divided between first, second and Rustico choice, then it is trimmed and divided into packs in accordance with its specifications.
For all three types of wood, each package is slatted every 50 cm, and the measurement is carried out plank by plank, both in width and in length, and reported on a specific itemized list.
